Can’t Stop the Spring (2023)
UAL MA Design for Art Direction Final Project
Director & Producer
Despite being one of the fastest-growing migrant communities in London, the Latinx community is continually faced with challenges of invisibility and misrepresentation. Can’t Stop the Spring seeks to redress some of these limiting perceptions by offering a positive and authentic portrayal of Latinx culture. The documentary highlights the vibrant diversity and significant contributions of the community, through the stories of eight individuals and groups. Through exploring themes of representation, identity, and self-discovery, the film emphasises the critical importance of their visibility in a city that often fails to recognise their existence.
*The term Latinx refers to anyone from Latin American background, increasingly adopted due to its non-binary racial and gender identification.
